Hello, and welcome to my classroom website! Thanks for visiting! My name is Jennifer Bindus, and I have been teaching elementary school children since 1995. I began my teaching career with Ravenna City Schools, and joined the Aurora third grade teaching staff in the fall of 2000. I received a Bachelor of Science (Elementary Education) from The University of Akron, a Master of Education (Gifted Education) from Kent State University, a Master of Education (Curriculum and Instruction)from Ursuline College, and a Master of Education (Evaluation and Measurement) from Kent State University. I am currently working on an Educational Administration degree which will be completed in November of 2011.
I have completed several professional development sessions/courses, and I've served on various school committees and curriculum committees. I stay current with best practices in education, especially in my three favorite areas: gifted education, differentiated curriculum, and curriculum studies. I earned National Board Certification during the 2001-2002 school year. I've also been nominated for and selected to appear in the Who's Who Among America's Teachers twice by former students. I live in Ravenna with my husband Bob; my one-year old son, Ben; and my labrador retrievers, Hank & Rudy. I love teaching, and remember each of my classes fondly. I'm looking forward to a wonderful and productive year with my students!
